Recently, we have observed the impacts of climate change in real-time more than ever, and closer to home. Environmental activism is becoming key in climate change efforts, especially when robust governmental action is lacking, but what does it actually look like?
The University of Birmingham is leading research to help mitigate and adapt to the risks and impacts associated with climate change. This roundtable debate is led by University of Birmingham students and researchers who are doing some amazing and innovative work on environmental activism such as launching creative initiatives that give a glimpse of a better future and campaigning on the frontlines with environmental organisations. The discussion covers how our students contribute to climate change and how students from different disciplines make change, advocating the significance of student activism at universities.
